- Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Department of the Air Force, Malmstrom AFB, Montana intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source for the replacement of defective and obsolete Positive Infinity Variable (PIV) Speed Transmission Grate Drive on #3 high temperature hot water generator. The associated NAICS code for this requirement is 333414. The vendor, Detroit Stoker, is a small business and they are located at1510 E. 1st Street, Monroe, MI 48151-1915. This procurement is for the replacement of a defective and obsolete Positive Infinity Variable (PIV) Speed Transmission grate drive on #3 high temperature hot water generator. The PIV grate drive assembly has to be engineered and manufactured to match the existing Detroit Stoker Spreader Stoker Feeders on #3 high temperature hot water generator. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of quotes or offers received in response to this notice. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333414. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities to meet this requirement by 12 NOON Mountain Time 13 September 2010. Additionally, any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. The intent of this notice is for informational purposes only. No reimbursement for any costs connected with providing capability information will be provided.
