Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a total small business set-aside. This solicitation number is RFQ1781374 and solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-44. The anticipated contract type is firm fixed price. Delivery is Bethesda, MD within 45 days after receipt of order. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) on behalf of the National Institute on Mental Health (NIMH) has a requirement for a 3D production system for conceptual models, tooling products and the manufacturing of end use products. There are two key targets for parts produced by the machine: MRI compatibility and end-use parts. Machine requirements are as follows: - Machine must be capable of producing parts using Polycarbonate and ABS thermoplastic materials. - System must be able to produce parts (build area) up to 16" x 14" x 16" - Accuracy of parts produced should be up to +/-.005" for the entire build area - System must be able to build models directly from a 3D CAD file - Parts produced must not have any post processing done to achieve strength. No external adhesives or glues can be used to bind material. - System should also be able to adjust build layer accuracy to change how parts are produced for detail and speed. Minimum resolution at fastest throughput should be within +/-.015" - Machine must be capable of being installed in an office environment Bids must include system delivered and installed at NIH facility, training, first year warranty with 3 additional years of maintenance Specific evaluation criteria is ability to deliver on time and within specification. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, with its offer. Clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Condition Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
