Description
RFP Document As stated in the September 7, press release, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced plans to purchase chicken parts to be distributed to USDA food assistance program recipients. The chicken industry continues to experience depressed market conditions causing increased inventories, and this purchase will create a much-needed outlet for dark meat chicken parts. With the announcement, USDA intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for dark meat chicken parts in the near future. Proposals will be due by 1:00 p.m., Eastern Time, on Tuesday, September 14. Proposals received after this time will be considered nonresponsive. AMS will seek to remove the most product at the lowest overall cost in forms that can be utilized by recipients. Recipients will be household food assistance programs including but not limited to The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), Commodity Supplemental Feeding Program (CSFP), and foodbanks. Offerors are urged to carefully read all applicable terms and conditions of PY-RFP-006 to ensure compliance with all program requirements. An electronic version of this Request for Proposals will be available at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Inquiries may be made by telephoning (202) 720-7693 or addressing the Contracting Officer; USDA/AMS/Poultry Programs, Commodity Procurement Branch STOP 0260; 1400 Independence Ave., SW; Washington, DC 20250. An electronic version of this Food Purchase Report can be obtained through the world wide web via the Commodity Procurement Home Page at: http://www.ams.usda.gov/PYProcurement.
