Description
The United States Geological Survey, Earthquake Science Center, in Menlo Park, California has a requirement to acquire seismic data by seismic drilling in Southern California. The USGS intends to acquire the services of a contractor to drill approximately 26 shot holes for seismic exploration. The period of performance shall be the date of award through 31 January 2011. All drilling must be completed by 31 January 2011. The statement of work and additional specifications will be identified in the forthcoming solicitation. The Request for Quotation (RFQ), number 10WRQQ0308, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1), on or about 13 September 2010. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. Interested parties should contact the Contract Specialist in writing by email at sklingler@usgs.gov. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-43, effective 02 August 2010. This requirement is set-aside for small businesses. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 213112, Support Activities for Oil and Gas Operations, and the size standard is $7.0M.
