- The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC intends to negotiate a sole source services contract with CENTURYLINK (FORMERLY EMBARQ) for Local & Long Distance & Metro Ethernet Telecommunications Services at the VA CBOC Hickory, NC. Contract will be for base period of October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011 (with 4 option years) in the event the VA elects to exercise the options. This proposed procurement is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than noon, September 13, 2010, local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
