Description
The National Park Service intends to issue a prospectus on Thursday, September 9, 2010, for proposals to operate food and beverage and retail at the Lehman Caves Visitor Center within Great Basin National Park. It is expected that the new contract will begin approximately March 1, 2011. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is NOT a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded. The term of the new Concession Contract will be for ten (10) years. The prospectus will be issued on September 9, 2010, for a 61-day response period under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due on November 9, 2010, no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Commercial Services Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, California 94607 by this date in order to be evaluated and considered for award of a Concession Contract. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package. Prospectus packages will be available by contacting Paul Pfenninger, Commercial Services Specialist, Pacific West Region, Commercial Services, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, California 94607. Telephone inquiries may be directed to 559-565-3104. Additionally, the prospectus will also be available for review, after September 9, 2010, at http://concessions.nps.gov/news.cfm. If you choose to retrieve a copy of the prospectus from the website please notify Paul Pfenninger, so you can be placed on a mailing list to receive modifications and other correspondence. A one-day site visit has been scheduled for September 28, 2010. If you would like to participate in the site visit you must RSVP to Superintendent Andrew Ferguson (775-234-7331 x202 or andy_ferguson@nps.gov) for additional information regarding time and location and to reserve a spot. Potential Offerors are encouraged to visit the Concession operation and facilities, however the National Park Service will perform only one site visit on the date identified above. Questions in response to this prospectus are due in writing to the address above no later than 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on October 5, 2010.
