Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration, has a requirement to upgrade the APL vessel's electrical and HVAC systes with eviromental conservation measures, this vessel is permanent moored at Suisun Bay Benicia CA. VESSEL PARTICULARS: Navy auxiliary personnel lighter, APL, a WWII personel barge, approx lenght is 250 ft. The vessel can NOT leave the suisun bay due to its permanent mooring as a office facility. The vessel's electrical system possibly contains asbestos and PCBs. All work and disposal of hazardous materials shall be in compliance with the latest Federal State and local regulatory body requirements. The competitive solicitation along with technical data will be available by electronic posting within the next 4 days and may be found at https://www.fbo.gov/ or http://ideasec.nbc.gov no earlier than Sep 10th, 2010. Solicitation No. DTMA4Q10063, SHIP CHECK: Monday Sep. 13, 9 AM at Suisun BAY. This is set aside for Small Business acquisition under the NAICS Code 336611. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the MARAD.A firm fixed price contract is contemplated. Anticipated award date is Sep 22, 2010,Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available. Offerors will be required to be submitted electronically. Effective January 1, 2005, bidders are to submit representations and certifications electronically via the Business Partner Network (BPN) Website at http://orca.bpn.gov. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
