- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center West Palm Beach intends to issue a sole-source contract to AMD Global Telemedicine for various medical equipment to support various telemedicine services to veterans at the Medical Center's CBOC locations. The equipment includes clinical telemedicine examination cameras capable of hi-definition still and video capture and transmission via connection to a HD video teleconferencing CODEC/system with zoom, freeze-frame and auto white balance functionality required, digital stethoscope capable of capturing and transmitting high quality/high definition heart and lungs sounds via connection to a HD video teleconferencing CODEC/system, camera and fiber-optic light source unit capable of producing medically accurate illumination when used with clinical telemedicine peripherals (i.e. otoscope, dermascope, etc) which must have the ability to interface with and/or connect to HD video teleconferencing CODEC/system and support interchange of multiple scopes heads in addition to auto-balance and variable light source control, dermascope for use in clinical telemedicine with a camera and fiber-optic light source connected to a HD video teleconferencing CODEC/system which has capability to dispose or remove contact surfaces required to facilitate cleaning/sterilization. Integrated measurement scale(s) are also required. This equipment must be compatible with existing Tandberg video teleconferencing equipment; MXP and/or Edge models. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 423450 with a Small Business Size Standard of 100 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids and no solicitation documents exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit detailed quotes demonstrating capability and compatibility to meet the needs of the VA. A determination by the government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
