Description
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Interactive Bedside Care Tool (ePatient) THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a Sources Sought notice for an Interactive Patient Bedside Care Tool functional prototype (ePatient) support in support of the VHA Innovations program. The objective of the project is to demonstrate how a modern patient terminal can bring the patient to be more actively involved in the care process, while also providing better entertainment and general information options. This project tests an interactive patient bedside monitor that replaces the existing patient television found at our medical centers. The unit would function as a normal TV but it would also function as an interactive tool for the patient's participation in their care. The system would include educational videos on demand and general information about the medical center, as well as access to MyHealtheVet and display patient specific information related to their care. Patient specific data will include but not be limited to scheduled appointments for the day, diet information, allergies, current physician, and assigned nursing staff. Working closely with the VA, the vendor will develop a Benefit Analysis Framework to assist the VA in understanding the business value of potential applications and uses of the bedside terminal. The vendor will use the framework to fully define the solution to be piloted and to understand its workflow impact. Finally, the vendor will oversee a 60-day pilot of the bedside terminal and assist Loma Linda in evaluating its effectiveness and value. It is requested that any interested party submit the information required below via email to the point of contact listed at this bottom of this announcement.
