- Description
- The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Ceradyne Inc for body plate. The contractor shall provide the body plate as follows: 1.) The material shall be light weight (less than 4.5lbs); 2.) Shall have the ability to stop 7.62 Armor Piercing ammunition; and 3.) The plate shall be able to be worn stand alone while maintaining a weight of less than 4.5 lbs for a medium sized "spear cut" plate. Items: a.) Defender 275 SC Multi Shop performance Level NIJ, Size Medium, Quantity: 34 b.) Defender 275 SC Multi Shop performance Level NIJ, Size Large, Quantity: 24 c.) Defender 275 SP, 6x6 Multi Shop performance Level NIJ, Quantity: 54 The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one responsible source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. The Government anticipates the award of a firm fixed price purchase order. Interested parties may indentify their interest and capabilities to respond to the requirement; however a determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition is within the Government discretion. This notice is not a request for competitive quotation. Responses must be submitted by 12:00PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), September 8, 2010 via email to John.C.Girard@usdoj.gov.
