- Quotes are being solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the Little Pistol Bridge Installation project located on the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Valley County, Idaho. Project consists of installation of a Government Supplied prefabricated bridge structure across Little Pistol Creek at the confluence of Little Pistol Creek and Pistol Creek. Work includes rehabilitation or replacement of 1 concrete grade sill and installation of a second grade sill and utilization of a heavy helicopter to transport and place the bridge on the sills. The bridge will be stored at the Challis Forest Service compound. The contractor will be responsible for the transport of the bridge to the location where it will be picked up by helicopter and flown to the bridge site. The project is within the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, the use of power tools and mechanized equipment is prohibited. Use of a helicopter is pre-approved for setting the bridge, but may not be landed at the bridge site. Ground crews will need to access the construction site by trail approximately 15 miles if using the Little Pistol or Pistol Creek trails or 6 miles if accessing from the Indian Creek Airstrip by way of the Middle Fork and Pistol Creek Trails. This requirement is being solicited as a Firm-Fixed Price Request for Quote using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The approximate start work date will be September of 2010. Quotes are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, September 17, 2010. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation will be available on approximately August 18, 2010 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http:www.ccr.gov and shall complete the On-Line Registration and Certifications Application (ORCA) http://orca.bpn.gov.. All responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement which will be considered by this agency.
