Description
1. Is this for self protection or electronic attack jamming? Both 2. What is the nature of the requirement? I.e. what threats or geo location is driving this RFI? No answer is provided. 3. Is it to be used to collect Data? No answer is provided. 4. Does it need to be a standalone system or can it tie in to existing A/C systems and power? Can be tied to AC systems. 5. Does it need to be retractable? Desired but not necessary. 6. Will this be used over water and deployed from small helo decks? Desired but not necessary. 7. Is this to be a decoy function? No answer is provided. 8.I interpret your requirement to be for a module in which sensor arrays can be installed, and for a cable with which a helicopter can lift and transport the module as a sling load. The module will weigh up to 5000 lb. The cable will be between 1000 and 4000 ft in length. The cable will be as small and light as practical and will not be required to have any function other than connecting the module to the aircraft. Although unstated, it would be expected that electrical and/or optical lines installed in the cable would provide power and data links with the module. Is this interpretation correct? Your interpretation is correct. 9. Some approaches might work over water but not land. The RFI reads: "The basic application would be to allow the array to follow a designated path over ground." This would suggest that the system is to be operated over land. Please tell us if the system is to be operated over ground, over water, or both. Both
