Description
JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION The National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation (NCGRP) in Fort Collins, Colorado is experiencing freezer ceiling condensation system failures which are causing the formation of icicles on Genebanked samples. These Genebanked samples represent the national standards for scientific research, and their loss is non-replaceable. This emergency replacement and installation of an Industrial HoneyCombe® desiccant dehumidifier;-Model HCD-1125-EA. Equipment to Include: • Dehumidifier housing with desiccant wheel and drive • Reactivation heater assembly • Process and Reactivation fan assemblies with TEFC motors and balancing dampers • Reactivation energy modulation • Process inlet insulation to retard external condensation, 1" thick for 0-55 OF entering temperatures • Process Blower, Size 700-35 • Add for Disposable 30% Process Inlet filter w/frame • Constant Process Fan Operation • Controls Package NEMA 4 control enclosure with motor starters, control relays, power distribution blocks, transformers and control power terminal blocks. The system control logic (sequence of operation) will be accomplished with a Siemens PLC. The PLC will be provided with the necessary discrete and analog I/O for functional operation of the desiccant wheel, reactivation and process fan. Contacts will be provided for PLC interface, alarm notification and fault notification. An HMI screen will be provided for user interface with the PLC, visual display of system operations and local set point adjustment.
