Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition intends to solicit on a sole source basis with the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), for a fellow on child and adolescent substance use research at the NIDA. The objective is to provide research training and policy experience for a post doctoral level scientist in the operations of child and adolescent substance use research and science policy. The scientist selected from SRCD will participate in various NIDA activities including the operations and the assistance of program officers in child development, clinical neuroscience and prevention research. The scientist will also participate in science policy and planning for developmental translational research, including strategic plans and national conferences. The SCRD is the only known source that will provide scientists in the field of child and adolescent substance use research. The period of performance is 12 months and the place of performance is Bethesda, Maryland. It is anticipated that the fellowship will be 1,980 hours. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NOI1769743 may be submitted to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, MD 20892-2080, and Attention: Susan Nsangou, Contracting Officer.
