- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center San Diego, Port Hueneme Site, intends to award a sole source procurement to General Dynamic SATCOM Technologies, Richardson, TX, under the authority of the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b). This requirement is a direct replacement item for existing equipment, manufactured by the General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies. The Servo System Motor Drive will be a direct replacement, used for the upgrade of the Laguna Peak sixty (60) Foot Dish Antenna System in support of the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC) Mission. The Servo System Motor Drive is a vital piece of equipment associated with the S-Band Antenna System to monitor and support the FLTSAT and UFO Satellite Constellations. Direct replacement of this vital system upgrade is required in support of constellations to maintain the integrity and reliability of the vital fleet communication satellites. No other substitute is known that will allow a direct replacement without extensive modification to the existing system. Specifications, drawings, and software are proprietary to General Dynamics SASTCOM Technologies. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the Government ™s requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available. Interested parties shall submit information that indicates their ability to satisfy this requirement. Responses are due by 10 September 2010, 12:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time, via email.
