- Description
- The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary to replace the Air Handling Units AHU-1 and AHU-2 with associated condensing systems replacement to support the new FSS/SAMP machine installation at the Cleveland OH AMC Post Office. The modification/replacement of existing ductwork is limited to the existing mechanical room to accommodate the installation of these replacement air handling systems. Electrical power system serving the HVAC equipment will be required to be modified. New direct digital controls (BACnet based). New fluorescent lighting will replace the current high pressure sodium fixtures in the main workroom. The center portion of the existing Lookout Gallery (LOG) and associated breakouts will be removed during installation of new machine. Removal of the LOG will require a new CCTV system. Access control system including card readers, door locks, request to exit switches and door contacts will be added to the site. The estimated cost of the project is between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000 with construction completion within 180 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. Contractors must submit a Qualification Statement with their price proposal. Only the most qualified contractors will be considered. To be considered, the company must be financially capable, have a minimum of five years total experience in HVAC, access control, lighting, and CCTV projects, and have completed two comparable projects within the past five years, one of which may be ongoing. Comparable projects are defined as General contracting renovation work including HVAC, lighting, CCTV, and access control) at a cost of $750,000 or greater. The Qualification Statements will be evaluated in accordance with the criteria stated, in the following order of preference: Experience, performance, and capabilities. The price proposals for only the most qualified contractors will be considered. The Postal Service will select the offer that provides the best value to the Postal Service. Additional Requirements: 1) General Contractor must demonstrate home office has been established no less than one year within 100 mile radius from the project site. 2) Licensed General Contractor and subcontractors for the state of Ohio. A PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING will be held in the Post Office Lobby at the Cleveland, OH Air Mail Center (AMC), 5801 Postal Road, Cleveland, OH, on September 9, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. ATTENDANCE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
