- ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.500 for a spectrometer and chiller w/1 yr. maintenance. Requested vendor PANALYTICAL, INC., 117 FLANDERS ROAD, WESTBOROUGH, MA 01581. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures --- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than Thursday, 2 Sep 2010 - 11:00 A.M., CDST. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Interested parties may submit quotes for consideration by the Government to ellaine.r.james@usace.army.mil. Please use solicitation number referenced in the subject line. This request is in line w/GSL's and ERDC's mission to support the Corps by performing research and development related to the nature of materials. PANALYTICAL, INC., is the only vendor who can provide the service because they incorporate proprietary parts into their machine that no one else can provide. Panalytical holds the patented technology and will not sell the parts to a third party in order for them to provide service on the instrument.
