Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Salem, Virginia is seeking potential sources capable of providing all labor, equipment and supplies, transportation and qualified supervision necessary to perform Nuisance Wildlife Services at the VAMC Salem, 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153. This requirement shall be performed by certified, trained and licensed contractor meeting the requirements of Virginia's Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Commercial Nuisance Annual Permit. Contractor shall trap and dispose of nuisance rodents and/or animals, to include woodchucks, groundhogs, skunks, raccoons and /or foxes, from VAMC Salem. These duties shall be performed in the most humane way possible and in accordance with all ASPCA regulations. Disposal of nuisance rodents and animals shall take place at an off-station location, and performed in accordance with applicable Federal laws and the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Contractor shall set traps on an estimated 213 acres of VAMC Salem grounds. Contractor shall check traps on a daily basis at 6:00a.m. and 9:00p.m., and when paged by the VAMC Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). In order to cause pest birds (i.e. geese, pigeons, starling, or other pest birds) to stop roosting, nesting and resting on VAMC property the Contractor shall provide pest bird control to the following extent: Flocks shall be relocated from Medical Center buildings as requested, but not more than two (2) times per year. The period of performance is from October 01, 2010 (or date of award) through September 01, 2011. The applicable NAICS Code is 114210 / Hunting and Trapping / size standard $4.0Mil. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned; firm's experience in providing Nuisance Wildlife Services within the VAMC in a professional setting and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
