Description
Synopsis: This is a Sources Sought Notice. This is not a Request for Proposal, Request for Quote, or Invitation for Bid. No solicitation document exits. Responses to this sources sought notice will not serve as proposals, bids, or offers, which could be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Any information provided to the Government is strictly voluntary and will be provided at no cost to the Government. The purpose of the sources sought notice is to conduct market research information about vendors who are capable of providing the following services: Statement of Work: 1.The contractor will pick-up and remove MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) from a contractor-leased thirty-five (35) cubic yard self-contained dumpster with a built-in compactor, on a twice a week basis. Monthly billing would include 1) Lease Cost Portion, & 2) Disposal fee to OCCRA (Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency). Repair and maintenance will be the sole responsibility of the contractor during the life of the lease. The contractor will fabricate a covered chute (dog house) from the exit point of the VA building to the compactor collection bin to accommodate the disposal of trash into the dumpster. Contractor will remove and dispose of existing VA-owned 42 cubic yard dumpster and compactor unit. VA will provide necessary utilities to operate the leased dumpster. This will include a base year, and up to four (4) option years. 2.A second dumpster, up to 40 cubic yards, open top, rear door access, must be made available on 48 hours notice. 3.The Contractor shall transport and dispose of MSW in accordance with all applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and any other state and federal guidelines. All responses to the Sources Sought announcement shall include Company Name, address, telephone numbers, DUNS#, and POC (Point of Contact) information. No telephone calls will be accepted. Responses must be provided no later than September 10, 2010 and 2:00 p.m., EDT. No extensions will be granted. This notice is to assist the Contracting Officer in determining potential sources. The responses to this Sources Sought synopsis must be in writing and are to be forwarded via email to duane.schumacher@va.gov, on or before 2:00 p.m., EDT, Friday, September 10, 2010.
