- NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE-SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award a single-source contact to NorthWest Research Associates, Redmond, Washington, for Wake Vortex Studies in development of new tools as necessary that can be used in an operational setting to predict the transport and decay of aircraft wake vortices. This procurement is considered to be single-source based on the requirement for the use and improvement of the vendor's existing proprietary-based aircraft vortex spacing system predictor algorithm model and associated software programs. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single-source procedures.
