- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood the FBO is a single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access the information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia, 22448-5110, intends to compete the following requirement: Item 0001: Conduct MIL-S-901D heavyweight barge shock testing of components of the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) MK 31 MOD 3 Guided Missile Weapon System. Additional technical requirement include the following: the location must be able to provide storage for two-Tri-Packs containing the four Inert Operational Missiles (IOMS), a crane certified for ordnance handling is required, 24 hour security while the Inert Operational Missiles (IOMS) are on site is required. The Government will be responsible for shipping the test items and all associated test equipment to and from the test facility. The testing is estimated to take place 01 November 2010 through 30 November 2010 and the Heavyweight Shock Test reports are due no later than four months after testing. A Firm Fixed Price Contract will be awarded for this full and open competition requirement. RFP number N00178-10-R-2018 is estimated for release 14 September 2010; the POC is Alexis Carmack Makely; alexis.makely@navy.mil. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Laboratory Procurement Division has implemented Electronic Commerce (EC) in the area of acquisition; therefore, this synopsis and any applicable amendments will be available on the World Wide Web at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/supply. Drawings associated with this requirement will only be released to DoD contractors. Additional details will be provided in the RFP.
