Description
The Naval Research Laboratory requires an environmental chamber (for thermal/humidity testing) combined with a vertical vibration system, to emulate actual field conditions for testing a variety of optical subsystems that will be incorporated in aircraft anti-missile protection systems. The combined chamber/ vibration system must, at a minimum, meet the technical requirements below. The environmental chamber must have interior workspace dimensions of 40" W x 40" D x 44" H, and must be capable of a temperature range of -73 deg C to + 177 deg C at a rate of 10 degrees C per minute; the humidity range must be 20% to 95% RH. There must be a removable diaphragm assembly for interface to the vibration system. A programmer controller for the chamber with on screen controls must be provided that is Ethernet- and web-enabled. The vertical vibration system must, at a minimum, must have payload support of 500lbs., must be compatible with direct linking to the environmental chamber. A complete list of specifications will be available as part of the solicitation. It is anticipated that a Commercial Item contract will be awarded as a result of this solicitation. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and amendments to RFP's. Paper copies of the RFP will not be provided. The actual closing date for proposals will be stated in the solicitation when issued.
