Department of Veterans Affairs Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn (WJBD) VA Medical Center The WJBD VA Medical Center is proud to announce its First (Semi Annual) Infection Prevention Vendor Fair. This fair will take place at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center located at: 6439 Garners Ferry Road Columbia, SC 29209 Nov 12, 2010 Time: 7:30am - 4:30pm (Bldg 5, Auditorium) Participation in this fair is at no cost to the Government and shall not, under any circumstances, obligate the Government to purchase. This fair will allow vendors the opportunity to demo unique and innovative products/equipment that is available to service our nation's heroes - Our Veterans! Participation is strictly voluntary and at the vendor's expense. Interested vendors are asked to provide demos on the following types of products/equipment that would benefit or service our veterans: 1. Products that have been proven to reduce the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs): All components - from sterile drapes to surgical clippers to skin antisepsis products. Products should have, as a minimum, an adequate and well-controlled outcomes study demonstrating an impact on infection rates for a valid cost-benefit analysis. Vendors should provide manufacturers' data compendiums with a bibliography of published evidence or the full text articles and a summary of the evidence. Vendors must provide any evidence-based health economic models to analyze the financial impact - if they have any available. 2. Products that reduce the incidence of sharp injuries. All sharp safety devices that are available - but especially for OR. 3. Products which are disposable. The purpose of this Infection Prevention Vendor Fair is to see the products available to help meet healthcare-acquired infection (HAI) reduction goals and standards and provide safer devices for prevention of sharps injuries. *Please limit demos and product literature to the aforementioned categories and keep in mind that space is limited to a 3x6 folding table* When replying for participation, vendors are asked to submit answers to the following questions: 1. What products do you intend to demonstrate and bring to the event? 2. How many, if any, electrical outlets do you require? 3. Are you planning to stay all day? If not, how many hours and what is your time schedule? 4. How many people from your company are attending this event? 5. What type of vehicle will you be traveling in? (This is to provide for parking accommodations) 6. How many parking spaces will you require? 7. Do you need to unload/load and how much time will you need to set up? 8. How many chairs required for your station? (Space needed cannot be guaranteed) Also, when replying for participation, vendors are asked to provide the following: 1. References of at least 2 customers (if possible/preferably VA) that currently use the proposed product/equipment. 2. Your company's name (as shown on your CCR and the company's DUNS number, if already registered), address, phone number including area code. Security Requirements: The Government is not responsible for the loss or theft of any equipment while showcasing the products. Vendors are responsible for removing products, papers, flyers, equipment, etc. from the facility by 5:00PM, 12 November 2010. PLEASE NOTE: Vendors are required to provide their own moving equipment (i.e. dolly, flatbed, etc.). Product literature must be brought day of event. Items will not be accepted through the mail or warehouse receiving facilities. November 12, 2010 - 7:00am Vendor can go directly to the Bldg 5 (Auditorium) to set up in preparation for the event. Products/equipment will be available for WJB Dorn VA staff to view from 7:30am - 4:30pm. Vendors will be allowed 30 minutes to breakdown at the end of the fair. To do business with the Federal Government, a vendor is required to be registered via the Central Contractors Registration (CCR). Information about registering via CCR is available at https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx To participate in this fair, it is required that vendors be registered via (CCR). Registration ends September 15, 2010 or when all spaces have been filled - whichever is earlier. 40 spaces will be granted on a first come first serve basis. Vendors are restricted from providing refreshments or other potential inducements.
