Provide one year of maintenance for the NAVFAC Enterprise configuration of Maximo 5.2 software for œBasic , œExtended and œPremium maintenance support on IBM Maximo Enterprise, IBM Maximo Navy Enterprise Transportation and other associated products for a period of performance from 1 October 2010 to 30 September 2011. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only IBM under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, since they are the only source able to provide both specialized support for NAVFAC IBM Maximo-installed software and are able to do so with both software maintenance and product upgrades. The work includes, but is not limited to, providing one year of maintenance on NAVFAC Maximo Navy Enterprise Transportation and other associated products. Vendor software maintenance support be acquired and maintained to allow for any patches or enhancements to the software to cover any Information Assurance vulnerabilities. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541519. The contract term will be a base period of one year. The proposed contract will expire on 30 September 2011. It is anticipated that IBM, Inc will continue to be the sole provider of licensing, maintenance and software support for all of the MAXIMO product line. As each licensing period nears the end, and prior to any follow-on contracts, competitive sourcing market research to determine other interested sources or suppliers will be conducted. This is a new procurement. It does not replace an existing contract. No information exists on prior contracts. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, inquiries received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
