- THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SMALL BUSINESS (SB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS), Des Moines Division, Des Moines, Iowa intends to issue a Request For Proposal (RFP) to procure nonemergent wheelchair van and car services to be performed for the Des Moines and Knoxville, Iowa campuses. A firm fixed price non-personal services type contract with estimated quantities will be awarded for a base year starting approximately November 1, 2010 to run through October 31, 2011, plus four (4) Option Years of twelve (12) Months each for a total contract duration not to exceed five (5) years or sixty (60) months, if exercised by the Government. Services will include non-emergency ALS, non-emergency BLS and non-emergency lie-downs and wheelchair van and car service. The service area includes the State of Iowa and surrounding areas of jurisdiction. Contractor must hold a valid ambulance service license. The solicitation, REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP), Solicitation # VA-263-10-RP-0515, will be issued on or about October 1, 2010 with a closing date of receipt of quotes on or about November 1, 2010. The solicitation and all amendments will be posted on the Government Wide Point of Entry (GPE) accessed via the Internet at http://www.fbo.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation and/or amendments will be distributed. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this avenue (FEDBIZOPPS) for release of the solicitation and any subsequent amendments. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the solicitation and/or amendments. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 621910 Ambulance Service, with a Small Business Size Standard of $7.0 million.
