- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a total small business set-aside. This solicitation number is RFQ1720864 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-44. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has a requirement for a direct current power amplifier. The direct current power amplifier will be used to correct (shim) the local static magnetic field inhomogeneity inside the human head for MRI/MRS applications. The DC power amplifier must meet the following requirements; (1) 14 independent channels; (2) Stable output currents over a period of time to ensure consistent image quality; (3) Electronic filter to reject possible noises carried on the cables that connect the DC power amplifier into the magnet room; (4) Broadband current sources (5) 16 bit resolution (15 +sign) (6) Settling in 100 us (7) 30 ppm/day stability (8) Serial communication RS-232 (9) 19" 6U sub-rack, 400 mm deep (10) Total output current +/- 11A@24V (11) Power 90-230V, 50/60Hz @8A Offerors will be evaluated on their ability to meet technical specifications. Offers will also be evaluated on best value in relation to price. Quotations are to be sent electronically to larochek@mail.nih.gov. The following FAR provisions shall apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors--Commercial Items, 52.212-2, Evaluation--Commercial Items. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, with its offer.
