- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Activity, intends to negotiate sole-source procurement of a Biosemi ActiveTwo 64+8 EEG System with Cortech Solutions, Inc., on behalf of the VISN 22 Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC), San Diego, CA. This system will be used for research in the fields of schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury, PTSD and depression. Its salient characteristics are: (1) complete coverage of the brain, (2) high scalp impedance so that leads can be applied without prior abrasion, and (3) the facility to collaborate with other researchers who use this system because of its exceptionally reliable and valid results. The VA intends to procure this system on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Part 13 and under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties who can provide a system that meets or exceeds the Cortech Solutions system may give written notice to the Contracting Officer by email at evelyn.mckenna@va.gov no later than August 31, 2009 at 3:00 PM PST. Notice must include the company name, address, phone and fax numbers, and a point of contact. Questions must also be submitted in writing. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered only for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
