- This Sources Sought Notice (SS) is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The purpose of this SS is to identify technically qualified 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone Small Businesses (HUBZone), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) small business concerns that are interested in and capable of performing the work described herein. ONLY SMALL BUSINESSES WITHIN THE ABOVE CATEGORIES SHOULD RESPOND TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The USACE does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information submitted. As a result of this SS, the USACE may issue a Request for Proposal (RFP). Should such a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against USACE shall arise as a result of a response to this SS or USACEs use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement. USACE is seeking capability statements from all eligible small business concerns under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 237310, with a size standard of $33.5 Million. All eligible small business concerns responding to this SS shall demonstrate their capability to perform the following supplies/services at Beaver Lake, surrounding parks and main office area, within Benton, Carroll, and Washington Counties in Arkansas: 1. Asphalt pavement repair; 2. Pavement markings; 3. Bituminous surface treatment; 4. Hot mix asphaltic concrete; 5. Shaping and compacting existing subgrade; 6. Shaping and compacting existing bituminous surface treatment; 7. Shaping and compacting existing base course; 8. Treatment, placing and compacting aggregate base course; 9. Removing and reinstalling wheel stops; 10. Ditch maintenance; 11. Fill Material 12. Bituminous crack sealing and placing stone protection Interested, qualified small business firms should submit a tailored capability statement for this requirement, not to exceed ten single-sided pages, single-spaced, and using a 12-point font that clearly details their capability to perform the aspects of the notice described above. All proprietary information should be marked as such. Capability statements must specify the small business type and size under the eligible small business concerns name and address on the first page of the document. All capability statements sent in response to this SS must be submitted electronically (via e-mail) to Laura Dodson, Contract Specialist, at laura.a.dodson@usace.army.mil in MS Word or Adobe Format (PDF) no later than Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 2:00 PM, CST.
