- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Salisbury, North Carolina intends to negotiate Sole Source contract procurement with The Carolinas Medical Center. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541712. The purpose of this project is to obtain services which involve completion of neuro imaging research studies including functional imaging with positron emission tomography (PET) to evaluate alterations in cerebral blood flow and/or metabolism. The project requires structural imaging with MRI to includeT1 and T2 weighted, FLAIR, gradient echo, diffusion tensor pulse sequences either as three-dimensional acquisitions or in multiple planes of section with a completed study outcome provided of de-identified data of scans and scan analysis via CD to the VA Salisbury Research Department. Study involves 40 subjects to be completed at a location within thirty miles of the Salisbury Medical Center. Research requires completion and delivery of specified outcomes by September 30, 2010. This proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only once source under the authority of FAR 6.303-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
