- Recovery Action - This modification is issued to obligate American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) of 2009 funds to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for the second year's work on "A Laboratory-University-Industry Collaboration for the Development of Magnets with Fields> 22 Tesla Using HTS Conductor" program as described in the Field Work Proposal AF SU093 submitted 04/2112009. This work was originally proposed by Fermilab in a multi-laboratory-university Field Work Proposal (FWP) number FNAL 08-22 dated 09/1712008. This proposal was favorably reviewed by four peers using standard OHEP procedures. Because of the requirements of the Recovery Act, individual FWPs were required from all of the DOE laboratories. The above captioned FWP was submitted to meet this requirement. The contract is a cost reimbursement contract because of the uncertainties of the research mission of the laboratory makes it impossible to estimate with reasonable accuracy the costs of performance making the firm, fixed price contract type inappropriate.
