- Amendment 1 - Cancellation of Solicitation UPDATE Posting 20 AUGUST 2010 Amendment 0001 CANCELLATION of Solicitation POSTING Invitation for Bid/Solicitation, Specification number 12170-10-001, Drawings, Wage Determination and Bid Bond form. A SITE VISIT is scheduled for 18 August 2010 at 10:00AM CST. Please see instructions in solicitation, Section L. BID OPENING date is 03 September at 2:00PM CST at the address listed in block 7 of the solicitation, page 1. BID BOND is required. BIDS must be firm thru 31 December 2010. The work consists of providing all materials, equipment, and labor to demolish and replace HVAC system, piping, ceiling, and lighting in the Main Cafeteria Building 452 (approximately 6700 square feet) at Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. The fire suppression/detection system (approximately 6700 square feet) shall be designed and installed by a licensed Fire Protection Engineer in the State of Tennessee. The extent of the work is contained in the drawings and specifications, major items of work include, but are not limited to, the following: A. Relocate furnishings, equipment, and provide storage containers. B. Provide covering and protection of existing cafeteria equipment that cannot be moved. C. Provide protection of existing flooring, walls, dividers, power and communication lines. D. Provide asbestos and lead removal as identified on the drawings. Asbestos is contained in walls, piping, and duct insulation. E. Demolish steam heaters and piping. F. Provide selective demolition including but not limited to: ceiling, lighting, wiring, HVAC system, supports, steam, condensate, fire, hot water and potable water piping. G. Provide wall construction including insulations, painting, and base. H. Provide HVAC system including controls, ductwork and supports. I. Provide new steam, condensate, hot water and potable water piping. J. Provide new piping valves, supports and accessories. K. Provide fire protection design and installation. L. Provide lighting. M. Provide roof modifications. N. Provide suspended acoustical ceilings. O. Provide disconnection and reconnection of power and communication lines P. Reinstall furnishings, equipment, and remove storage containers. Q. Other incidental tasks and repair necessary to complete the work as required by the specifications and drawings. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Performance period is 294 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Invitation for Bid will be available on or about 27 Jul 2010. Bid opening date will be on or about 31 August 2010. Construction Magnitude: Between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Invitation for Bid (IFB) will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of IFB Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all available information. NOTICE: Award of a contract will be in accordance with FAR 52.232-18, Availability of Funds. Funds are not presently available for this contract. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor received notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer.
