- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Broadax Systems Incorporated (BSI), 17539 Rowland St, City of Industry CA 91748 for the acquisition of 3 each of a Ruggedized Notebooks, Model # M230-N-Rugged Notebook. This procurement is sole source for the following reason. This particular laptop is required because it is used in a mission critical ship navigation system that requires Windows 2000 operability, which is no longer supported by most manufacturers. This unique configuration has been tested and approved for use on the MCM 1 Class ship. Due to obsolescence issues, no other approved configuration is available. BSI is the only responsible source due to their unique qualifications as the only U.S. distributor manufacturer of these items. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334111, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The Department of Defense will no longer award contracts to contractors not registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Registration may be accomplished by accessing the CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov/. Award will be based on a fair and reasonable price on or about 08/25/10.
