- The National Institutes of Healths intends to award a sole source purchase order to Hydro Service and Supplies, Inc. 5609 Kraft Drive, Rockville, MD 20852 for a Preventative Maintenance Contract on the Deionized Water System. Statement of Work for Hydro Water Systems Maintenance Contract Renewal and Preventative Maintenance for Water Systems. Background: These are Deionized Water Systems manufactured by Hydro. They include Water Systems (RR569, R1832, R1833, R1835, R1837, R1838, R2396, R2397, R2398, R2516, RP452, RP550, RP451, RP1024, RP1025, and RP1026). The components include Pico pure 2UV Plus PRT (04732), Pico system (11218), Pico system (11244), Pico pure recirculating (04902), Pico pure (04900), LPRO 190gpd (04067), Storage tank (20200), Hydro pump station (17001). We use these water systems in the synthesis and production of novel contrast agents and for in-vitro and in-vivo animal models of human disease in support of protocols LDRR 09-01 and LDRR 09-02 and for translational research in the newly established NIH multi-institutional Center for Interventional Oncology. Scope: A preventive maintenance visit with extended warranty on the systems listed and its components listed above. Description of work: Hydro will adjust, repair and replace such parts as may be necessary to put the equipment in good working order. The extended warranty will extend the standard one (1) year warranty supplied with the original equipment purchase by 1 year. The contract covers serial numbered items listed above, but does not cover consumables, expendable items, or physical damage. Period of Coverage: The contract will cover the time period of one year from September 30, 2010 to September 29, 2011. Place of performance: All services need to be performed at: NIH Bldg 10, Room 1N306 10 Center Drive Bethesda, MD 20892 Justification: We use these water systems for protocols LDRR 09-01, LDRR 09-02 and for translational research in the Center for Interventional Oncology for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of new imaging agents in addition to cellular and animal imaging of tissues and animals. Our research laboratories would not be able to function if these water systems were to breakdown and our labs would have to shut down until such time as the needed repairs could be performed. Hydro is a sole-source to service Hydro Water systems. We know that Hydro could restore our Water Systems to proper function and keep them in good working condition for our ongoing research projects and protocols. Due to manufacturer warranties, Hydro is the only company that provides maintenance and service to this equipment. Only original equipment manufacture parts (OEM) can be used this water system.
