- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute on Mental Health (NIMH), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Hamilton-Thorne, 100 Cummings Center, Suite 465E. Beverly, MA 01915 for a brand name Xyclone Desktop System to include 1 Xyclone laser module, 1 desktop computer, laser control software, image acquisition software, video acquisition software and measurement documentation software; (1) Remote fire foot switch; (1)Color Digital Camera: (1) C-Mount Microscope adapter, and (1) target locator for laser assembly. Hamilton-Thorne is the sole manufacturer of the Xyclone Desktop System. Delivery and acceptance will be in Bethesda, MD. NAICS for this acquisition is 334516 and the size standard is 500 The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NOI1710351 may be submitted on or before September 3, 2010 to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, MD 20892-2080, and Attention: Idella Simpson, Contract Specialist simpsoi
