- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound intends to solicit, in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), to purchase A UNIVERSAL CYLINDRICAL GRINDING MACHINE (1 EA). THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS OF THE MACHINE (AS FURTHER SPECIFIED IN THE SPECIFICATION ATTACHED TO THE SOLICITATION) ARE A MINIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN CENTERS OF 39.4 ; AUTOMATIC GRINDING CYCLES FOR PLUNGE AND TRAVERSE GRINDING; SWIVELING MACHINE TABLE; AND TURRET WHEEL HEAD FOR EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL GRINDING. THE DIMENSIONS FOR THE MACHINE ARE A MAXIMUM OVERALL SYSTEM DEPTH 75 , MAXIMUM OVERALL SYSTEM WIDTH 0F 145 AND MAXIMUM OVERALL SYSTEM HEIGHT OF 84 . THE VENDOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ON-SITE INSTALLATION AND SET-UP OF THE GRINDER, AS WELL AS PROVIDING ALL NECESSARY TESTING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TO THE SHIPYARD PERSONNEL FIVE (5) DAYS OF TRAINING AND ALL PERTINENT TECHINCAL MANUALS. FOB Destination to PSNS, Bremerton, WA. FUNDS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS REQUIREMENT. IF THE CONTRACTING OFFICER DOES NOT OBTAIN FUNDING BY 15 OCTOBER 2010, THE SOLICITATION WILL BE CANCELLED. OFFERED PRICING MUST REMAIN VALID UNTIL AT LEAST 20 OCTOBER 2010. This requirement to be solicited using commercial, simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13.5 utilizing Low Price Technically Acceptable evaluation factors. The acquisition will be solicited anticipating award of a Firm, Fixed-Price Supply type contract. Numbered Note One applies The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. This solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: https://www.neco.navy.mil. The anticipated posting date of the solicitation is on or about 20 AUGUST 2010 with a closing on 2 SEPTEMBER 2010. Complete specifications to be included in the solicitation.
