Description

The National Park Service is soliciting interested and qualified parties for the supply of a Condor Care Unit (CCU) for the Condor Recovery Program at Pinnacles National Monument (PINN). The goal of the PINN Condor Recovery Program is to maintain a viable population of California condors in PINN, and by extension, central California. The park seeks a dedicated Condor Care Unit (CCU) to facilitate the success of this mission. Condors requiring treatment and chelation for lead (Pb) toxicity which are not ill enough to warrant stressful removal and transport to a contract veterinarian must be housed and treated at PINN in this dedicated unit. The work of this project will require the Contractor to provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment as needed to provide a mobile trailer successfully converted into a Condor Care Unit. The overall elementary design of the proposed CCU shall be a 24 foot by approximately eight foot (24' x ~8') mobile trailer, professionally converted to meet the needs of the veterinary standards of the program. It will also be founded upon the need for three functional units, as follows: 1) a Condor Holding/Housing Area, 2) a Condor Treatment Area, and 3) a Laboratory and Storage Area. Each of these areas would serve a primary and integral purpose relative to the housing and treatment of condors at PINN. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be available on/about August 18, 2010 by electronic means only and can be downloaded along with all related attachments from the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fbo.gov or directly from the Department of Interior website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The RFQ will close Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 5:00 pm Pacific Time. The Contractor is responsible for periodically checking the website for any Amendments that may be issued prior to the closing date. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for qualified Small Business concerns. The NAICS code is 321991 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. All responsible small business concerns may submit a proposal which, if timely received, will be considered.
