- Description
- The purpose of this acquisition is to procure Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the B-52 Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) that is currently at the Rockwell Collins plant in Sterling, VA. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one responsible source IAW FAR 6.302-1, Rockwell Collins, Cage: 00WX8 under the solicitation number FA8223-10-R-50286, which is expected to be released on or around 02 Sep 2010. The anticipated period of performance for this short-term support contract will be a 6-month base contract and two potential 3-month options, beginning 28 Sep 2010. This effort will end and align into the B-52 Aircrew Training System contract under solicitation FA8223-10-R-0001. The Contractor is required to comply with all requirements specified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). This short-term support would be limited to maintaining the training device which includes operation of the consoles and performing all maintenance, logistics, and specified operations in support of the B-52 SIL, components, subsystems, and support equipment (SE). SIL availability and operation is necessary to complete technical discrepancy (TD) resolution for open modifications under contact F42630-99-D-0244. The scope of this effort will include the particular experience, skills and knowledge to accomplish the effort described in the PWS for CLS support while the processes applicable to the source selection for long term support are completed and that contract is awarded.
