- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Discipline, Branch of Analytical Services, National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) has a requirement for annual service maintenance to maintain and repair a Waters Corporation Quattro Micro GC tandem mass spectrometer (MS/MS) and associated data system MassLynx and TargetLynx software. The period of performance will be for one base year with three option years. The NWQL analyzes for hormones and other trace organic contaminants in water, sediment, soil, tissue and other matrix samples using the system above. The NWQL will need to analyze at least 100 samples per year, and to process the sample extracts before they deteriorate, the NWQL will need to have access to a fully qualified service engineer within two (2) business days of notice, if the instrument systems are not functioning properly. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253, implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from Waters Corporation, 34 Maple St, Milford, MA 01757-3604 and proposes to negotiate with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by August 22, 2010 10:00 P.M. Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
