Description
The intent of this contract is to secure services for the demolition and removal facilities on the Los Padres National Forest. A base bid is for the demolition and removal of 26 former recreation residences with minor associated structures adjacent to White Rock Campground on the Santa Barbara Ranger District, and removal of the residence and garage at Chuchupate Ranger Station. Optional bid items for demolition of up to 14 additional facilities at 4 different locations. The work includes furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and supervision to demolish and dispose the foundations to their complete depths, footings, concrete walkways leading to individual facilities, septic systems, LPG tanks, and other site specific demolition. The Contractor shall provide soil over the demolition site to match the existing surrounding grade, and grade any disturbed areas with an emphasis on proper drainage. All work activities shall have minimal impact on the site. All buildings and portions of buildings become property of the Contractor who may salvage for future use any portions deemed salvageable. All demolition materials must be removed from prospective sites and disposed of either via salvage, recycling or disposal off Forest Service lands. The Contractor shall carefully examine the existing conditions and information, shall become familiar with the nature and location of the work, the conformation of the ground slopes and terrain, the nature of the soil and subsoil conditions, nature and extent of the materials that will be encountered during the decommissioning operations and any existing site conditions that may effect the project, prior to the beginning of work. An environmental assessment to test for lead-based paint, and asbestos containing materials contained in/on the buildings is currently being conducted. Results will be made available prior to demolition of the buildings.
