- Synopsis Trash Removal and Maintenance of Trash Receptacles The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (The Kennedy Center) is a living presidential memorial mandated by Congress to present and produce the finest performing arts from this country and abroad. It is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, but because the Center is a national memorial, it receives federal funds for building maintenance and operations. The largest cultural facility of its kind, it consists of 1.5 million square feet situated on 17 acres. It houses six theaters of varying sizes, two restaurants, administrative offices and parking garages. It attracts over four (4) million visitors each year with performances and other special events offered 365 days of the year. The purpose of this solicitation is to select a firm to provide trash removal and maintenance of three trash receptacles at The Kennedy Center. The acquisition will result in a firm-fixed price, base plus four option years, contract for the ongoing service and maintenance. Proposals will be evaluated under full and open competition and an award will be based on the Lowest Price Technical Acceptable offer. In general, offerors MUST register in the Contractor's Central Registration (CCR) in order to participate in this procurement. The website for CCR is http://www.ccr.gov. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561210, Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services. The entire solicitation will be released and available for viewing and downloading at www.fbo.gov, on or before August 20, 2010. The estimated due date for proposals will be September 17, 2010.
