Description
Statement of Work Project # 518-10-16 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. Demolition: 1.The contractor shall assume all responsibility of items/equipment/debris removed or demolished. 2.All demolition work shall be completed in accordance with Scope of Work and VA Plans. 3.Provide dust protection for demolition and construction in all areas of work according to ICCP for class III/IV construction. 4.Provide and use walk-off mats or construction Sticky mats for exiting the work site during demolition and construction. 5.Isolate local HVAC system associated with demolition and construction to prevent dust contaminations to surrounding areas covering and sealing the return and supply. 6.Provide enclosed dust transport to carry debris to truck beds and govern flow of material into truck. Debris, including concrete, stone, metals, and similar materials shall become the property Contractor and shall be disposed of by him off the Medical Center every work day. VAMC dumpsters may not be used. 7.Clean and vacuum work site at the end of every work day. In the event that dirt or debris resulting from contract work is tracked outside the work site, clean immediately. Cleaning equipment will not be provided by the VAMC. 8.Coordinate all utility shutdowns with VA COTR. 9.Remove all existing portable items of equipment and furnishings away from work area. Store according to directions of COTR. Also cover all equipment and items unable to be removed in immediate work area with plastic. Construction: 1.All new construction shall correspond to VA Drawings and specifications contained herein. 2.Relocate existing items as noted at location specified within this document. Items to be relocated include: HVAC Exhaust Fan, one (1) air conditioner unit, women's lockers, electrical outlets and switches, relocate (1) surface mounted electrical lighting fixture 3.Contractor will be responsible for the replacement/patching of any walls or ceilings disturbed and or damaged by construction. Project Location and Special Instructions: Building No. 82/Room 100A: 1.Relocate existing air conditioner to center window at the easterly wall of room 100A. Patch vacated hole in wall with appropriate masonry materials (interior and exterior). 2.Remove existing window screens for aesthetic reasons. 3.Relocate existing 110v duplex outlet and switch for air conditioner to new location as indicated on VA Drawings. 4.Relocate 2' X 4' surface mounted light fixture to new location as indicated on VA Drawings. 5.Relocate existing telephone jack and data communication line to new location as indicated on VA Drawings. 6.Install duplex outlets on newly constructed partition wall in accordance with applicable NEC. 7.Install new HVAC exhaust vent and connect to existing exhaust system using flexible duct work. Cap abandoned exhaust vent and patch hole in ceiling. 8.Construct new partition wall from finished floor to existing finished hard ceiling as noted on VA Drawings. 9.Provide and install 4" cove base to match existing colors on all newly constructed walls and replace any existing cove base disturbed by construction. 10.Patch, prime and paint new work and areas affected by construction to match existing. Building No. 82/Room 120 (Woman's Locker Room): 1.Remove and store existing lockers on east wall. Lockers will be reinstalled along new partition wall to be constructed at this location as noted on VA Drawings. 2.Construct new partition wall from finished floor to existing finished hard ceiling as noted on VA Drawings. 3.Install new duplex outlets on newly constructed partition walls in accordance with applicable NEC. 4.Cut rough opening for ingress/egress through existing framed wall as noted on VA Drawings. 5.Cut rough opening for ingress/egress through existing concrete masonry unit wall as noted on VA Drawings. 6.Patch, prime and paint new work and areas affected by construction to match existing.
