- The U. S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with Instron (Illinois Tool Works); 825 University Avenue, Norwood, MA 02062-2643 for the preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of government owned Universal Testing Machines. Instron Bluehill software is of a proprietary nature and is the only source that obtains the required software for ht preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of the equipment. Instron is the sole manufacturer of the brand testing equipment in which there are no authorized personnel other than an Instron Factory trained field service engineer/representative to service the equipment. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811219 and the size standard is $7.0 million. Interested persons may identify their interest, in writing, to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later that 4:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time, 01 September, 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers.
