It provides the following functionalities: controlling of the different devices the EPR spectrometer is composed of e. g.: magnetic field controller signal channel, microwave bridge, monitoring of the devices in order to provide e. g.: diode current, receiver level, state of the microwave bridge, controlling different acquisition methods e. g.: field sweeps, ENDOR sweeps, pulsed experiments. The acquisition server is logically placed between the user program Xepr and the spectrometer hardware controllers. Most of the hardware controlling is done via LAN. Xepr provides the graphical user inter faces to control and monitor the ESR spectrometer and to perform EPR experiments using the acquisition server. In addition these user programs provide a rich set of functionality for data processing.
