- Description
- The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 98,245 board feet (1/4-in. International) of standing hardwood sawtimber and 1,976 tons of standing hardwood pulpwood on approximately 72.5 acres at the Raystown Lake Project, Huntingdon County, PA. Bids shall include any costs associated with road improvements or site retirement. The purchaser shall be responsible for bonding of roads associated with the timber harvest operation. The purchaser is responsible for any damage to township, county, state, and/or private roads caused by traffic associated with the timber harvest operation. The purchaser will coordinate with DCNR on access across DCNR property. DCNR has indicated that access in not permitted through the Trough Creek State Park and hauling must occur by exiting toward PA Route 829. The total number of items for this sale is one (1). Whole tree chipping is not permitted on this sale. The timber must be harvested between October 1, 2010 and September 30, 2011. The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers on September 3, 2010 at 9:00a.m. starting at the Raystown Lake Visitor Center located approximately 4 miles east of Hesston, PA. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., September 15, 2010 by the Acquisition, Management and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Glenn Werner at the Raystown Lake Project, Huntingdon County, PA. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, and a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. This timber will be sold by LUMP SUM sale method.
