- NAVSEA is seeking qualified sources to perform maintenance, repair, engineering analysis and supplemental maintenance training in support of LPD-17 Class Main Propulsion Diesel Engines (MPDE) located on LPD 17 Class ships based primarily in Norfolk, Virginia, San Diego, California, and Sasebo, Japan. Interested parties should submit a brief statement explaining their ability to service and maintain the LPD 17 Class MPDE, any pertinent past performance information; and describe their ability to procure parts specifically for the Colt Pielstick Model PC 2.5 STC-16V. Please submit your statement of interests no later than 09/01/2010. The work includes all quarterly and higher maintenance tasks derived from the U.S. Navy's Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for the LPD 17 Class MPDE; tasks normally assigned by the local Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) in support of LPD 17 Class MPDE operations; and all Intermediate level and Depot level LPD 17 MPDE maintenance tasks. Non-scheduled maintenance shall be assigned as required by the Government. Work shall also include providing technical recommendations to the LPD 17 MPDE In-Service Engineering Agent to improve the MPDE performance. Interested parties shall be capable of providing warehouse services, which are NAVSEAINST 4440.024D compliant, for selected maintenance materials, Long Lead Time Materials, battle spares, and other items as determined by the Government. This notice is open to all responsible businesses that qualify for the type of work described. This notice does NOT constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid.
