- The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) intends to issue a sole source commercial item purchase order, using FAR Part 13.105(b) Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1), with only one responsible source that will satisfy the agency's requirement to Robert Graham Studio/McClelland-Graham LTD to provide the preapproved bronze medal of the late Robert Graham (renowned sculptor) who designed and produced the bronze medal for the annual National Medal of Arts Ceremony (established by law in 1984, the bronze medal is the highest award given by the President of the United States to individuals or groups deserving of special recognition of their outstanding contributions to the excellence, growth, support and availability of the arts in the United States). The design and production of the bronze medal is sanctioned and continues to be approved by the President's of the United States. Awarding these services to Robert Graham Studio/McClelland-Graham LTD for production of the bronze medals allows the NEA's Office of the Chief of Staff to meet the requirements of the White House for presenting the bronze medals to the 2010 National Medal of Arts Recipients. This notice is for informational purposes only. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals nor will a formal solicitation be issued. A determination by the Federal Government not to compete with this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The NAICS code is 332999 and small business size standards in number of employees are 500.
