- Amendment to the solicitation changing the deadline for questions to August 18, 2010 at 1:00PM EST and the proposal due date to August 24, 2010 at 10:00AM EST. Full Solicitation The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs serves as the principal staff advisor and assistant to the Secretary of Defense for public information, internal information and all related matters. Critical to the mission of the office is the ability to access and provide news information on a time-sensitive basis in order to provide information and guidance to the Department’s senior leaders on breaking news and on public opinion concerning Defense-related matters. The objective is to provide timely, accurate transcripts of senior leadership speeches, interviews, briefings, and testimony on a rapid basis in order to provide public affairs guidance and direction to the Department.
