- Proposals are being solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the Salmon Airbase project located on the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Lemhi County, Idaho. This project consists of constructing facilities at the Lemhi County Airport in support of the Fire Aviation Program for the East Central Idaho Mountains. Facilities include a Helibase Operations Building, a Rappel Tower, a Vault Comfort Station, Helicopter pads, Fixed Wing Parking area, access roads and parking areas, security fencings, site grading, and necessary utilities for the improvements. The project also includes the removal and disposal of existing structures on the site. The work will include the construction of approximately 6,893 sq. ft. of combined office, operations and warehouse space with 415 sq. ft. of outdoor covered space at the southeast corner of the Lemhi County Airport, 4 miles south of Salmon, Idaho. Optional items will include the construction of a rappel tower, parking area paving, site road construction, concrete helipad construction, and construction of a paved fixed wing aircraft tarmac and connecting taxiway. This requirement is being solicited as a Firm-Fixed Price Request for Proposal. The approximate start work date will be October of 2010. Offers are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, August 24, 2010. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation will be available on approximately July 16, 2010 and may be downloaded from this site at that time. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http:www.ccr.gov and shall complete the On-Line Registration and Certifications Application (ORCA) http://orca.bpn.gov..
