- Description
- Project consists of a deployment staging area and finger pier expansion. These two projects are tied together at the finger pier connection to the deployment staging area and each project can affect the other project in a negative manner if construction is not properly phased and coordinated. This project includes close coordination and phasing to prevent damage to the newly provided staging area due to pile driving, laydowns, and heavy equipment traffic associated with the finger pier expansion. Also, project requires close coordination and phasing to prevent damage to the newly provided finger pier due to laydowns and heavy equipment traffic. The two projects are being procured together to ensure coordination and phasing of work, material laydown areas, equipment laydown areas, and staging of heavy equipment. The project includes new work fencing (entire perimeter), lighting additions (Area C only), select gravel area overlayments (Area B, C, and D), and new guardhouse and gates. This project also includes an addition to the existing pier. This work includes driven piles, installation for the pier structure, precast plank, and a concrete topping for piers deck surface. The new ramp will be constructed in accordance with AASHTO bridge design. Existing water and sewer lines to the pier must be replaced and at least one new floodlight will be installed.
