- This acquisition is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). It has been determined that competition will be limited to 8(a) firms located within the geographical area serviced by the New Mexico District Office and El Paso District Office and other 8(a) construction firms with a bona fide place of business within the geographical competitive area, and having the assigned NAICS code. All other 8(a) BD Participants are deemed ineligible to submit offers. NAICS code is 236220/SIC 1542, with a size standard of $33,500,000.00. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. Bidders attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding a tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about August 27, 2010 with bids due on or about September 27, 2010. This solicitation will not be issued on paper. WORK CONSISTS of the construction of a Ready Building for the 21st Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Weapons of Mass Destruction) Company. The building will include operations space, sleeping area, kitchen and eating area, latrine with showers, laundry, fitness area, supply, and storage space. Mass Notification system, fire Detection and sprinklers will be installed throughout the facility, along with Energy Monitoring Control Systems connection to the installation central system, and Information system will be provided. Supporting facilities include (electric, water sewer, and gas), parking and access roads, site improvements and information systems. Accessibility for individuals with Disability will be provided. ATFP measures include stand-off distance, laminated glass and security lighting. Self contained system will be provided for heating. This project will be advertised as an 8(a) Small Business Set Aside, Invitation for Bid (IFB). Proposed procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract. This solicitation will be issued via internet only; notification of Amendments shall be made via internet only as well.
